A Lecturer should have a Ph.D. in Physics (or equivalent in research publications); and a Senior Lecturer should also have had some University teaching experience. The appointee will be required to lecture, to conduct seminars and laboratory and tutorial classes, set and mark examinations, and generally assist in the research, teaching, and related work of the Department. (January 12.) LECTURER IN MATHEMATICS An applicant should have a Ph.D. and research interests related to fluid dynamics, elasticity, heat convection and singular perturbation problems. Some experience in both lecturing and research would be advantageous. The appointee will work under the direction of the Professor of Applied Mathematics. He will be expected to join fully in the research activities of a research group which is concentrating on applications of singular perturbation techniques in fluid dynamics, elasticity and heat convection. This group at present consists of four post-doctoral members of staff and eight research students. The successful applicant will also be expected to lecture and examine in appropriate branches of applied mathematics, and to carry out other relevant duties. (January 21.)
