Kiwi To Rest
The strain of receiving numerous visitors is affecting the health of the Auckland Zoo’s sole kiwi, and the bird will be given two months respite from exhibition. The zoo had three kiwis, but one died and another was transferred to a sanctuary. The Government has promised to give another two in the future. American visitors now have more chance of seeing a kiwi in the United States, for two are on display at the San Diego Zoo.
