Fanners To Keep Watch
Both consumers and producers were already concerned at a sudden rise in prices, the chairman of the meat and wool section of North Canterbury Federated Farmers (Mr A. F. Wright) said yesterday. Speaking at a meeting of his executive, Mr Wright said corrugated iron had risen in price by 23.3 per cent Some price Increases had been made at very short notice. He suggested that Federated Farmers watch to ensure that devaluation was not exploited. Later in the meeting the executive passed a motion urging the provincial executive to see that every effort was made to hold costs.
