Tax Surcharge Delayed

Congress yesterday delayed President Johnson’s hopes of a 10 per cent tax surcharge until next year at the earliest.
Mr Wilbur Mills, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, told reporters the issue was “dead” for this session of Congress.
