NEW JOINT VENTURE
U.E.B. & Neill, Cropper (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 28.' U.E.B. Industries Ltd, and Neill, Cropper Holdings Ltd, have formed a joint company, Coated Products Ltd, which will specialise in the manufacture of “one-time-carbon” for business firms, accounting machine rolls and continuous stationery in computers. It will also make Ordinary carbon paper and ribbons, manufactured in the past by Caribonum (N.Z.) Ltd, a subsidiary of Neill, Cropper. Caribonum products will in future be marketed by another new joint company, Galaxy Office Supplies Ltd. (U.E.B. acquired its interest in this field through Mono, which was part of the WeeksField group taken over in 1963.)
Mr R. C. Austin, manager of Caribonum, has been appointed a director of Coated Products and will manage it. He said today that the demand for “one-time-carbon” had soared because of the more sophisticated office systems. Local production had been lagging behind.
Additional machines were being built or Imported, he said.
