Money Taken From Office
Cash amounting to $3B was taken from the office of Cameron Lewis and Company, Ltd, 180 Worcester Street, when the premises were entered on Monday night. In other burglaries on Monday night, tools valued at $8.70 were taken from the Fletcher Construction Company Ltd’s shed at the Northlands Shopping Centre, Main North Road, and $5 in cash was taken from the office of Thorpe, Cutler, Pickmere and Douglas, architects, 24 Oxford Terrace.
An attempt was made the same night to break into the Avonhead Service Station, 180 Yaldhurst Road. Nothing was taken from the Russley Book Shop, 218 Withells Road, and the Merrin Dairly, Ltd, 222 Withells Road, when they were entered.
