TWO TRACTOR FATALITIES.—The drivers of these two tractors died when their machines overturned. The tractor and trailer (at left) were going down a steep grade when the tractor began to slide, with the weight of the trailer pushing it sideways. When the wheels hit a track, the tractor rolled over, finishing in a gully. The driver of the tractor on the right was crossing a slope when one of the rear wheels dropped into a cow track. He apparently tried to back out, but lost control, the tractor sliding back and overturning at the foot of the slope. Photographs: New Zealand Agricultural Engineering Institute.
