Big Prize In Sweep
(N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 7. A New Zealand syndicate won the $40,000 second prize Cup Sweep decided today. The “G and J” syndicate from New Plymouth held the ticket on the New Zealand horse, Red Crest, which finished second in the cup. Two other New Zealand syndicates also from New Plymouth, won consolation prizes of $lOOO each for being one off the ticket which won second prize and seven syndicates from New Zealand won $714.28 each for holding tickets on unplaced horses in the big race.
