Cable Opening Denied
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. Allegations that the American Central Intelligence Agency had opened cables addressed to a New Zealand trade mission in Kuala Lumpur were dismissed today. Inquiries by the New Zealand High Commission in Kuala Lumpur and the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok, where the mission is now, “had not revealed any basis for the report,” said the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake). The complaint was made by the leader of the mission, Mr R. H. Stewart.
