PROTEST AT DELAY
Widening Of Highway In the next flood, the council would have to close the narrow section of the Akaroa State Highway between Halswell and Tai Tapu, said Cr L. J. Cutler, at a meeting of the Paparua County Council last evening. “That might bring things to a head,” he said, after criticising the District Roads Council for not allocating widening to be done. Cr Cutler said bits of the tar-seal were falling into the deep drain on the north side of the road. He said he would show Mr C. C. A. McLachlan, M.P. the road, and ask for his support in getting action.
