Housing Aged Problem
(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. The economic situation would pose some problems for the Government in providing subsidies and loan finance for pensioner housing schemes, the Minister of Health (Mr McKay) said yesterday when opening 24 pensioner flats built by the Papatoetoe City Council. “I would like, however, to give an assurance that it is the Government’s concern and desire to maintain the programme of housing for the elderly at an effective level and to make the maximum use of the resources which are available for this pur, pose,” he said.
