Pilot Loses Tailplane
>N Z Press Association* WHANGAREI, Oct. 18. The pilot of a top-dressing aircraft landed safely in a paddock after his tailplane had been shorn off by a hilltop power line early this morning. The aircraft, making its first run of the day, landed heavily on a nearby flat paddock and went through two fences before coming to a standstill. The accident happened about 8.35 a.m. on the property of Mr J. A. Holder, of Kaitaia.
The pilot was shaken but sot hurt, and half an hour later he was back in the air.
