First-round matches in the two senior grades of the Boys’ Association played on Saturday resulted:— Senior I Cashmere High School 140/7 declared (Gray 50; Homersham 4/37) beat Christ’s College B 81 (Green 3/1, Larten 3/16) on the first Innings. Boys’ High School (Jenkins 69. Wall 30; O’Sullivan 3/40, MeBrearty 3/42, Gillooly 3/47) beat St Bede’s 78 (Jenkins 5/6, Skinner 3/27) and 80/8 (O’Connell 32; Jenkins 3/15, Skinner 3/30) on the first innings. Burnside High School 222/6 leclared (Salisbury 52 not out, Healey 50 not out, Ockwell 33; Cartwright 4/75) and 56/3 declared beat St Andrew’s 34 (Luff 5/7, Bannan 4/14) and 176 (Gilbert 89, Luff 5/40, Doyle 4/59) outright. Senior II Hagley High School 175 (Thompson 37; Mouldey 3/23) beat Christ's College 73 (Bass 7/29) on t&e first innings.
