S. Africans Seek Return
(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter —Copyright) JOHANNESBURG. South Africa has invited a fact-finding delegation from the International Federation of Football Associations to visit the republic. This is a first step toward gaining reinstatement to the world soccer body. Mr D. Marais, president of the South African Football Association, said that he had put South Africa’s case to leading soccer officials during his 12-day visit to Europe. He had talks with Sir Stanley Rous, F.I.F.A/s president. South Africa was expelled from F.I.F.A. because of her apartheid policies, but Mr Marais said he thought the Government’s recent change of attitude would ease her path back into international aoccer.
