Wool
Sir,—One day w* are going to learn the folly of relying on primary goods for our exports. Why should Britain have to. continue to hold on to us because we are not willing to reform? If Britain does join the E.E.C. without reservations to New Zealand, hard times could be ahead, which woiMd benefit us in the end. We would have to commence manufacturing high - quality secondary goods for export. We do have the old unchangeables who tell us that the world will always want our wool Of course, this is not so. Wool will soon be replaced by so many of the new synthetics and others yet to be discovered.—Yours, etc, SOPHOCLES. October 13, 1967.
