Lifters Seek N.Z. Titles
Two leading lifters to thte middle-weight division, J. Shea and A. Roy, will represent Canterbury at the Nejv Zealand weight-lifting championships at Hamilton today. Shea ia expected to lie among the leading performers at his weight A. Diehl may also lift tor Canterbury in the same weight division if an arm injury permits. : The Canterbury champiofi, T. Ebert, is not competing because of an arm injury, and W. Donovan is not available because of university examinations. The three place-getters |n the “Mr Canterbury” contest, R. Thomson, E. Wood and P. Taite, are representing tlje province in the “Mr New Zealand” physique contest being held in conjunction with tse weight-lifting championships.
