CHATHAMS TRIP
The fishing vessel Plcton, which has been undergoing a routine overhaul by Stark Brothers, Ltd, of Lyttelton, is expected to sail for the Chathams today for crayfishing. Formerly a well-known coastal trader, the 50-year-old Picton is owned by the Picton Fishing Company, Ltd. She would be in the Chathams area about six weeks, said her master, Captain A. S. Aberdein. The Picton has been equipped with a 25-mile radar and has had her twin propeller shafts renewed. She will carry mail for the Chathams.
A convoy of trawlers is expected to leave Lyttelton for the Chathams later this month, although no approach has been made to the Marine Department
