The latest look in fingernail fashions reached New Zealand this month when an Auckland cosmetic manufacturer introduced a new range of nail polishes.

Each bottle carries a free sheet of rub-on nail motifs, the first of their kind in the country. They are simply rubbed in position on the fingernails in much the same way as a transfer is applied.

The motifs are in a variety of patterns in black and white. They can be protected with a coating of clear varnish.

The new nail polishes are made to complement the latest make-up colours. The off-beat colours are the green and the blue. Sand and dawn are in milder tones of pink and brown. The picture on the left shows Sandy Edmonds, the New Zealand pop star, showing nail motifs by Cutex.
