Football Club Building
The Marist Rugby Football Club would be permitted to build changing rooms, showers and toilets on a section in Brockworth place provided it could make more space for parking, the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board ruled yesterday. The club was appealing against the decision of the Riccarton Borough Council not to allow the building on the grounds of traffic problems and the detrimental effect on residences.
The board chairman (Mr W. J. Kealey, S.M.) said objections of the Riccarton Borough Council were not sustainable except for the requirement of more parking space. He said it was a matter for the council to decide how much extra land for parking would be required on the site.
