One tunnel user had run out of petrol four times this year, and his vehicle had had to be serviced by emergency vehicles on another four occasions, Mr W. A. Wheldale, the tunnel superintendent, reported to a meeting of the Christchurch • Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority yesterday. “His cooperation has been sought to minimise stoppages and unnecessary danger to other road users," he said.
