National Basketball Tournament Opens

Canterbury Country and Otago Country teams lead after the first day of the Rothman’s Third and Fourth grade N.Z. Basketball Tournament, held at Rangiora yesterday. Matches were played on the courts of the North Canterbury sub-association, the host club. >

Three matches have been played by all teams except Kaikoura and Hokitika, which have played only two. Ten associations are playing in the tournament, which continues today and tomorrow.
