THE NEW MADISON SQUARE GARDEN in New York which will have a seating capacity of 20,000. Audiences will have a clear view from any part of the building. The sound system will be improved by the use of 50 loudspeakers, 25 of which will be suspended only 40ft above the floor. Special lighting for colour television has been introduced, and there is 64,000 sq. ft of space available for exhibitions. There is also a 500-seat cinema, an amphitheatre for small trade fairs, a 48-lane bowling alley, an art gallery, and dining facilities. Coming exhibitions can be advertised in the lobby, 340ft by 50ft. The building should be completed by the end of the year.
