PIRATE RADIO
Armed Post Reported
(N.Z. Presa Aasn.—Copyright) HARWICH (England), June 29. Police were last night investigating allegations that swivel-mounted shotguns and Molotov cocktail Are-bombs were used in the latest flareup among British radio pirates on the fringe of the high seas. Two mystery men—one said to be little more than a boy —were alleged to have rained Are-bombs and chunks of wood and iron on the decks of a supply boat trying to put two caretakers aboard an offshore tower used for commercial radio broadcasts across Britain. One of the would-be caretakers told reporters he was left swinging on a wire ladder above the seas last night as the boat veered away with a blaze on deck.
The man, 26-year-old John Hoiles, claimed he was peppered with airgun pellets as he hung on the ladder, and that swivel-mounted shotguns and booby-traps were on the tower to deter boarders.
