Auckland Statue

AUCKLAND, July 3
The 10ft bronze statue of a Maori chief, draped in a long ceremonial cloak and gazing seaward, was unveiled at its permanent position opposite the Auckland Chief Post Office yesterday by the Mayor (Dr. R. C. McElroy). The statue was commissioned by the Auckland City Council and sculptured by Molly Macalister.
