Notes Easy
Dollar notes will be easy to get used to. Only new notes will be issued by banks from July 10. Sterling notes will be withdrawn as they are paid in. But dollar notes may be used equally well in £ s. d. shopping. Simply use $1 as 10s, $2 as $1 and so on. While they are still circulating (for about six weeks) £ s. d. notes may be used in dollar-cent shopping. These are the new notes:— $1 (brown) = 10s; $2 (mauve) ~ £1; $5 dollar (orange) £2 10s (this is a new value); $lO (blue) =■ £5; $2O (green) “ £10; $lOO (red) - £5O.
All notes are smaller than their £ s d equivalents, but are similar in colour.
