A. Wall and W. Casper tied at 279 for 72 holes in the $20,000 Canadian Open golf championship and will meet in an 18hole play-off.

Casper sank a 10ft putt for a birdie on the final hole to draw even with Wall. They played in the same twosome and were the last players on the course.

Casper shot a two-under-par 69 and Wall, who led by two strokes after three rounds, had a 72 in the final round. R. J. Charles (New Zealand) was seventh with 286. After the winners, three American players were tied at 280—J. Nicklaus, S. Reid, and J. Boros.

An American, A. Geiberger, was alone on 281 next.
