League Side Named
The Canterbury Rugby League selectors have named their team for the first match of the Rothman’s tournament at Greymouth on Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30. The team to play Otago in the first game is:— P. M. V. White; M. Napier, S. Dunn, B. W. Langton, R. O. Moffat; R. S. J. Irvine, W. J. Godfrey; C. Schwass, J. Rosanowski, R. Cotter, W. P. Noonan, A. Mcßeath, J. H. Fisher (captain). The reserves are the captain chosen for the tour, J. A. Bond, and J. L. White. The other two members of the squad, G. H. Clarke and B. Gillman, may play in the Sunday match.
A meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League last evening received the rules of the tournament from the New Zealand council. Should teams be level at the end of 80 minutes two more
spells of five minutes will be played. If there is no further score, another five minutes each way will be played. Should this not decide the match the result will depend on the toss of a coin.
Seventeen players will form the tournament squads but only 15 players can be named as the team and reserves for any one match.
The Canterbury under 19 selectors have chosen a training squad from which they will select the team to take part In the Southern Zone of the New Zealand Rothman's tournament at Wellington on July 29 and 30.

Pomare, B. Jager (Hornby); W. Marshall (Sydenham).
