SHIFT WORK OPPOSED
The Canterbury Drivers’ Union had decided strongly to support the Lyttelton Waterside Workers’ Union in its opposition to shift work on the wharves, said the union's secretary (Mr N. Runnill). The Combined Port Unions had decided to oppose shift work on the wharves. This had been a direction from the Federation of Labour.
