Elimination Bouts Set

The matches pit Ernie Terrell, ranked No. 4 contender by the World Boxing Association, against the fifth-ranked Thad Spencer, and Jimmy Ellis, ranked No. 8, against Leotis Martin, ranked No. 9. Terrell held W.BA. recognition as champion for two years, until he lost to Clay in a fight for the undisputed title on February 6. The tournament, which has W.B.A. sanction, also includes Karl Mildenberger (No. 1), Oscar Bonavena (No. 3), Floyd Patterson (No. 6) and i Jerry Quarry (No. 7).
