V.S.A. WEEK PLANNED
To publicise the need for adults in the Volunteer Service Abroad scheme, the Christchurch Junior Chamber has organised a week’s campaign to begin on Monday. The campaign is part of a national appeal by New Zealand Jaycees, sponsored this year by Air New Zealand. The service requires adults with a skill to help overcome the problems of developing nations in the Pacific area and South-east Asia.
Fanners, surveyors, teachers, mechanics, doctors, nurses, and graduates of ail faculties are among the skilled practical persons required. • Static displays in shop windows and a display of books on V.S.A. in a book shop are the main features of the publicity. The Christchurch chapter also has a slide set with a tape-recording on overseas work by volunteers which will be made available to interested organisations.
