Verdict Of Not Guilty
(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, June 1. A retired Ngaruawahia doctor was found not guilty in the Hamilton Supreme Court today on a charge of attempted abortion. George Brownlee Isdale, aged 75, had pleaded not guilty to unlawfully using a dilator with intent to procure a miscarriage. The girl’s name was suppressed. It was alleged the offence took place on February 20 at Ngaruawahia. The jury deliberated for an hour and a half. Mr E. R. Winkel, of Auckland. appeared for the Crown. Counsel for the defence was Mr N. I. Smith.
