Warned To Pack

(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 1. In view of the present attitude of the court, it was advisable for persons

charged with driving while disqualified to arrive at Court with their bags packed, Mr R. D. Jamieson, SJL, said in the Magistrate’s Court today. William Benny, aged 25, a pipelayer, had pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified on February 16. “It has been made clear that these charges are getting too numerous again. It should now be well known that anyone who drives while disqualified is risking imprisonment,” the Magistrate said. However, because of the delay between the commission of the offence and the appearance of the accused in court, he would on this occasion dispense with a gaol sentence. Benny was fined £5O, with costs of 30s.
