LEGISLATION FOR CUT
Totalisator Duty (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 1. The recently announced cut of .03 per cent in totalisator dividend duty to facilitate the reckoning of dividends in decimal currency is provided for in a Stamp Duties Amendment Bill introduced today in Parliament The legislation proposes a new combined totalisator duty of 9.32 per cent of gross investment instead of the present 5 per cent totalisator duty and the separate 4.35 per cent dividend duty. The present rebate to racing clubs of 2.5 per cent on the first £50,000 of gross investments during! year would be maintained.
