SHOUTS FOR CHICHESTER
1000 People Outside House (NZ.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) . LONDON, May 30. More than 1000 people chanting “Francis—We Want Francis” waited for hours Outside Astor House in Plymouth yesterday to see Sir Francis Chichester. They were rewarded when he came to the door, waving and smiling. The crowd burst into cheers and sang: “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.” Sir Francis Chichester, wearing his familiar yachting cap, told the crowd: “I am sorry I have holed up. I have taken the day off.” Dozens of people rushed forward when he came outside and be walked down the steps and shook hands with many of them. He looked fit and was relaxed and cheerful.
