WELLINGTON, May 30. The Minister of Health (Mr McKay) said today that the use of mould inhibiters by the bakery trade could deceive purchasers because food on which mould grew was stale
Under certain conditions suppression of mould as an indication of staleness could he dangerous, he said. He was replying to suggestions from the trade that greater freedom should be allowed in the use of preservative substances capable of restraining mould growth in food such as cakes and pies.
