SOUVENIR COINS

Sale By Post Offices At the request of the Treasury, the Post Office had undertaken to assist in the distribution of souvenir decimal coin sets, which would be available for sale from Monday next at 9 a.m., at every permanent post office in the charge of a postmaster, said the Chief Postmaster in Christchurch (Mr M. E. Wilson) yesterday.

Main supplies would be on sale at the Post Office Savings Bank branch, Hereford street, where four separate counters would be provided. Supplies at smaller offices were limited.

Sets would ba of seven coins, including a commemorative dollar piece. Individual commemorative dollars would be in plastic cases. “The maximum number of sets which can be bought by

one person is three,” Mr Wilson said. “Each person may purchase three of either type or a combination of. three as desired.”
