NEW SHIP IN SEPTEMBER
(N.Z. Prets Association) AUCKLAND, May 25. The Hawea, a 2250-ton rollon roll-off ship being built for the Union Steam Ship Company by the Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Company, Hong Kong, would be ready for delivery in September, said the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr R. C. F. Savory, today. Mr Savory has just returned from a visit to Hong Kong where he checked on the progress of the Hawea which will be used for the Auckland-Lyttelton - Dunedin | weekly cargo service.
