Poor Finish By Charles (NZ.P.A.-Reut.r—Copyrloht) OKLAHOMA CITY. The Americans, J. Rule and K. Zarley, shared the firstround lead in the 66,000-dol-lar Oklahoma City Open golf tourament yesterday. Each scored a three-under-par 69 to be one stroke ahead of the South African, G. Player, M. Barber and L. Ziegler. Seven golfers, including the New Zealander, R. J. Charles, were bunched on 71. R. Stanton was the best Australian player, shooting a 73. Rule has not won a professional tournament since winning here in 1965, and Zarley has never won a tour event. Charles, after taking a oneover on the first hole, birdied four of the next seven. He remained a strong contender for the first round lead until he took one-overs on the final two holes.
