ATTACK IN STREET
Man Robbed Of £7 Two men, described as Maoris, knocked another man to the ground at the intersectton of Cashel and Barbadoes streets about 10.30 pm. on Thursday, kicked him on the bead, and robbed him of £7. Chief-Detective E. T. Mitten said that the man was walking towards the city from his home in Saxon street when the two men jumped him from behind, knocked him to the ground, and rifled his pockets. The man struggled violently, and was kicked on the head. After the assailants had made off the man went to the Central Police Station. While detectives seached the area, others took the man to the Christchurch Hospital, where he was treated for cuts on the left ear and back of the head. The men whom the police are looking for are described as being in their late twenties or early thirties. One was sft 7in, and wore a blue and black shirt and dark trousers. The other was sft Bin, and was also wearing dark trousers.
