DEBUT OF FIGHTER
Flightless, ' Toothless (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WETHERSFIELD (Essex), May 26. The most sophisticated aircraft in the Western weapons arsenal made its debut in Britain yesterday—toothless and flightless. The plane is an FIIA swing-wing tactical fighterone of 20 built for the United States Air Force for testing—which had been flown across the Atlantic for display in Britain and Paris. At the Wethersfield United States air base, reporters found the most harmful thing about the unarmed aircraft were twin spikes in the radio aerials on the tailplane trailing edge.
