Closed surface parcel mails were introduced from Auckland to Djakarta on May 15, said the Postmaster-General (Mr Scott) yesterday. Previously, surface parcels posted in New Zealand were sent to Australia for inclusion in mails from there to Indonesia.—(PA.)
AA.C. Patrols. During April petrols of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) travelled 14,634 miles, helped
156 cars, and erected 236 signs. The technical officers inspected 244 vehicles and partly inspected six.
