BIRDS FOUND DEAD
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, May 25. Hundreds of mutton birds have been found dead in their holes on the Titi Islands this season. The secretary of the Mutton Birders’ Association (Mr H. F. Ashwell) said today that the cause of the deaths was not known. He said the number of young dead birds found in their holes would be “no more than 10 in 100—it might not even be as high as that —but last year the incidence was nothing like that at all."
