MAORI ARTS FESTIVAL
Photographic Awards (N.Z. Preu Aiiociation) WELLINGTON, May 25. The first prize in the colour section of the photographic contest at the recent Wellington Maori arte festival went to the photograph of King Koroki’s funeral by W. H. Britton, of Auckland, which won last year’s award as the best newspaper photograph of the year. The second prize went to W. Hitt, of Auckland, with a Maori head. Merit awards went to C. C. Ingerson (Hamilton), M. H. Walker (Levin), and S. A. Criscillo (Wellington).
The black and white prints contest resulted: Mrs Y. Cave (Wanganui) 1, R. Woolf (Weilington) 2. Merits: A. McKelvie (Napier), Miss K. M. Rapson (Porirua), N. Brotherston (Tauranga), D. Nicholson (Wainuiomata), P. J. Harnett (Christchurch), B. Nathan (Auckland), H. Paton (Auckland), W. w. Robinson (Wellington), G. Strang (Weilington), R. A; D. Drawbridge (Wellington), "P. A. Lang (Rotorua). The colour slides contest was won by W. H. Britton, with R. Woolf second. Seventeen contestants won merit awards.
