Anne Lane Wins At Maramarua

AUCKLAND. After a hard atruggle for the last half-furlong, Anne Lane scored by a nose over Corumba in the Ohdnemurt Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double at Pukekohe yesterday . They were out on their own at the finish. Town Guard was a length and a half back, third.

Anne Lane had not shown form since she won at Thames in very heavy ground lasi spring. She was let up soon after and the Ohlnemurl Handicap was her fourth race since. Whakamoa, the favourite, raced disappointingly. He was fifth, close behlnld Big Beau.

Bostock gained Ma second successive win in the Pseroa Handicap, the second leg. In a hard finish with Lynbrae, he won by half a length. The favourite, Bottle Top, was third, beaten more than anything by hie wide barrier position.

Bottle Top was weH back in the first furlong. He then began a sprint round the field to be close to the front on the home turn, but faded toward the finish although he lasted for third.
