U.S. DONOR’S TROPHY
Gold Cup For Marlborough Mr A. Dewied, of the Dewied Casing Company, Sacramento, California, has donated a gold cup to the Marlborough Racing Club. The decision regarding allocation of the new trophy to an event at the club’s annual meeting next year has been left to tile committee. Mr Dewied is a business associate and personal friend of Mr H. V. Spicer, who is judge to the Marlborough Racing Club and handicapper to several Canterbury clubs. The donation was made through Mr Spicer. Mr Dewied is a large-scale buyer of sheep and lamb casings from New Zealand. His firm also exports hog casings—for the manufacture of sausages and saveloys in quantity to this country.
