MACDONALD INQUIRY
Appeal By Steward (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. An appeal has been lodged by the stipendiary steward, Mr H. P. Duncan, against the decision of the judicial committee of the Waikato Racing Club not to take action over a charge against W. J. Hillis concerning the running of Macdonald in the Seddon Hurdles at Te Rapa last Saturday. The appeal will be heard by the Waikato District Committee on Friday. Hillis was charged with not riding the horse on Its merits, but following an inquiry the club’s judicial committee decided to give him the benefit of a doubt.
