NO POTTERY FOR EXPORT
Home Demand Too Great (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, May 23. New Zealand potters find it almost impossible to export their work, says a Nelson potter, Mirek Smisek. The local market absorbed all that they could turn out, he said. Mr Smisek, who was in Hamilton for the opening of an exhibition of his work at the University of Waikato, yesterday, said: “We even find it difficult at times to keep up with the demand.” Most of the pieces in the Hamilton exhibition were sold within an hour of the opening.
