Flour Sales Rise
Supermarkets and some grocery stores had noticed an increase in flour sales since the price rise after the abolition of subsidy, said the general manager of I.G.A. stores for the South Island (Mr E. G. Stonestreet) yesterday. The turn-over of some lines made with flour, such as cake mixes, macaroni, and biscuits, was down. “People are making their own biscuits rather than pay the increased price," h e said.
