Prices Ease Further (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, May 18. Git-edged prices outside short-dated stocks showed substantial falls on the London stock market this week.
On Monday, prices fell sharply after the United Kingdom trade figures of the previous week, weakness in sterling, fears of a rise in world interest rates and talk of inflation. At times the Government broker supported the market On Thursday, with selling drying up and some small buyers around, the market rallied slightly. However, losses on the week ranged to nearly a point in long-dr teds with smaller falls in nearerrated maturities. Shorts managed small gains. Dominion and colonial stocks lost ground.
