U.S. COUPLE FOR THEATRE TRUST
The first American actors to join the Canterbury Theatre Trust have been announced by the director of the trust (Mr J. Kim). They are Koger White and Miss Betzie Parker, a young married couple who have been working their way through America in resident theatres, off-Broadway shows, radio, television and films. Until recently Mr White had been playing in Peter Weiss’s “Marat Sade” which has been making a national tour of the United States. Before this he played Hamm in the off-Broadway Royal Playhouse production of “Endgame”. He also toured the United States as Jimmy in “The Rainmaker”. As an actor with the resident Goodman Theatre Company in Chicago, he has played Jerry in “Zoo Story”, Rudolpho in “View From a Bridge,” Dick in “Street Scene” and the lead in a new play, “Wash 10”.
Mr White has also acted on television on the National Broadcasting Corporation and the American Broadcasting
Corporation networks. Miss Parker has played offBroadway as Anne in the Theatre ’62 production of “The March March” and as Claire in the Royal Playhouse’s “The Knowing One”. She has toured New England and the southern states playing leads in “The Marriage Go-Round”, “Fair Game", “The Waltz of the Toreadors” and “The Rainmaker”. Miss Parker has worked in the Mount Cathalia Playhouse and the Murray Dodge The-|
atre, resident theatres in New York and New Jersey. A recent experimental film in which she played led to television and radio parts.
